JAKARTA – PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk has completed the voting stage in the process of Postponing Debt Payment Obligations (PKPU) on Friday (17/6/2022).

As many as 97.46 percent of creditors agreed with the peace proposal offered by the management of the state-owned airline.

Member of Commission VI DPR Andre Rosiade appreciated the voting results, so that the business wheels designed by Garuda and all related parties can run well in the future.

“We appreciate the management of Garuda Indonesia, the Ministry of SOEs and all elements of the government who have worked hand in hand to save Garuda Indonesia.

The voting results of 97.46 percent show that creditors believe in Garuda’s plans going forward,” said Andre, Thursday (23/6/2022).

Andre added that Garuda’s victory was in accordance with the direction of the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party who is also the Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto, in which he asked Commission VI and the Garuda Rescue Supervisory Committee to support these steps to save the national flag carrier.

“Pak Prabowo asked us to specifically oversee the steps to save Garuda Indonesia,” he explained.

Andre hopes that in the future support for Garuda Indonesia will continue to flow, so that Garuda can carry out the strategic steps that have been designed.

“This voting result is a form of signal of support for Garuda Indonesia. I hope that in the future Garuda can carry out strategic steps in accordance with the business plan and peace proposals offered,” said the Gerindra politician.

“We at Commission VI fully support Garuda Indonesia to continue to fly high. God willing, Garuda Indonesia can become a state-owned company that is the pride of the nation,” he continued.
